It’s the night that all the leading players in the mortgage and finance industry make sure they circle on their calendar – the Australian Mortgage Awards.

Recognised as the industry’s most prestigious titles, nominations for the 2023 awards are now open.

After a hugely successful return as a live event in 2022 with more than 700 people in attendance, this year’s black tie gala dinner will be held on Friday, October 13, at The Star Event Centre in Sydney.

Run by Key Media, the Australian Mortgage Awards are now in their 22nd year and are supported by Australian Broker and Mortgage Professional Australia. Once again the AMAs is proud to have the support of Westpac as the event partner, with the major bank now in its 14th year of backing the event.

“Australians trust and value the independent service mortgage brokers provide,” said Westpac Group head of mortgage broker distribution Warren Shaw (pictured below).

“We support and celebrate this as we come together to recognise an industry of hard-working and high-achieving professionals at this year’s AMAs.”

The AMAs 2023 will feature awards across 27 categories, honouring the best brokers, brokerages, aggregators, business development managers and lenders in Australia.

The lender awards include  the fintech lender of the year, as well as bank and non-bank of the year.

In the broker categories, awards will be handed out to the crème de la crème of commercial and residential brokers, and the nation’s best regional broker. Awards will also go to the best broker in specialist lending and productivity.

Brokerage awards will recognise the best small, medium and large brokerages as well as the top new brokerage, best brokerage for diversification and the best regional brokerage.

From the winners of the broker and brokerage awards the judges will also choose the Westpac Australian Broker of the Year and the Liberty Australian Brokerage of the Year.

Among the other awards are best aggregator of the year and boutique aggregator of the year, while the best BDMs for major banks, non-major banks and non-banks will also be honoured.

Rounding out the awards are mortgage manager of the year, best industry service, best customer service from an individual office and best marketing campaign.

As well as event partner Westpac, 19 other organisations have shown their support for this year’s awards, including premium partner NAB and award sponsors Liberty, La Trobe Financial, Pepper Money, MFAA, FBAA, Bankwest, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), Mortgage Choice, OnDeck Australia, Adelaide Bank, Equity-One, Firstmac, Gateway Bank, Resimac.
