Mortgage Choice unveils FY24 national partner

Mortgage Choice’s charitable arm, the Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation, has selected anti-bullying organisation, Dolly’s Dream, as its national partner for the 2024 financial year.

Dolly’s Dream is committed to changing the culture of bullying through education and direct support to young people and families, to address the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression, and youth suicide.

Partnering with Dolly’s Dream meant franchisees from within the Mortgage Choice network will contribute from each loan settled to the charity, supported by additional fundraising activities and a generous contribution from REA Group.

At the recent Mortgage National Conference, the mortgage broking firm kicked off a fundraising effort, which raised more than $25,000 in just three days through generous donations from the network’s brokers, internal teams, and partners; the auction of an original artwork by Cairns-based Indigenous artist Munganbana, and an exclusive event where attendees mingled with some of our conference speakers.

Anthony Waldron (pictured above left), CEO of financial services and Mortgage Choice at REA Group, said the entire Mortgage Choice network was proud to support the “vital work Dolly’s Dream does to improve cyber safety and change the culture of bullying across Australia.”

“Hundreds of our franchisees are committing portions of their settled loans to help Dolly’s Dream reach even more young people and families, particularly in regional and rural communities,” Waldron said.

Sally Sweeney (pictured above right), head of engagement at Dolly’s Dream, said the charity was thrilled to be partnering with Mortgage Choice, which has already shown its commitment to Dolly’s Dream at the recent national conference.

“The support from the Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation will help ensure that we can continue to deliver anti-bullying and cyber safety workshops in schools, provide access to our 24/7 Support Line, offer Mental Health First Aid training and enable our free cyber safety educational app for parents and carers,” Sweeney said.

During the 2023 financial year, MCCF has donated more than $346,000 to charities across Australia. It has also committed to continue to support state-based charities, including Dolly’s Dream, which are nominated by Mortgage Choice franchise owners, in the 2024 financial year.
