While the Australian Mortgage Awards has been and gone for another year, the afterglow still remains for all 713 guests who attended the 2023 event.

The AMAs are the leading independent awards event in the mortgage industry and showcase the best and brightest in the business.

The winners for the highly anticipated event were selected by a panel of 24 esteemed industry experts.

One of the judges, Chris Paterson, general manager distribution at Resimac, said there was a “real buzz” about the AMAs this year.

“People were having a great time and were enjoying themselves from start to finish,” said Paterson (pictured above centre).   “All the finalists and winners have a clear passion and drive for success. They’re all hard-working individuals and businesses who are continuously striving to be better.”

Sharon Yardley (pictured above left), who judged the submissions for the LBH Best Industry Marketing Campaign award, also was impressed with the performance of the individual awardees and their dedication to their clients and ongoing innovation.

“The candidates all had excellent, integrated campaigns which showed a real focus on creativity and real investment in their community of brokers and customers which are supported,” said Yardley, head of operations, risk, and compliance at Heartland Finance.

Louisa Sanghera (pictured above right), managing director of brokerage Zippy Financial Group, said it was a “real privilege” to judge some of the categories.

“People need to realise the clout these awards give their businesses. Potential clients are always impressed when they see you’ve won awards,” Sanghera said.

“It's great for the industry to come together and celebrate our work, our methods, and our successes. Even if you don't enter the awards this year, you should look at what the winners are doing to be successful. We can all learn from them, even if we don't win an award.”

“It’s also a great chance to relax and let our hair down. We all need this as we are in a stressful industry so we need to get our dancing shoes on once in a blue moon.”
